Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung is Shao Kahn's lead sorcerer. He once fell out of favor with his emperor after failing to win the Earth Realm through tournament battle. But the ever scheming Shang Tsung is instrumental in Kahn's conquest of Earth. He has now been granted more power than ever.

Fighting as Shang Tsung

To be successful with Shang Tsung you must be ready to perform his fireballs and morphs on command. If you stay away from your opponent and perform odd patterns of fireballs to confuse your foe. This will most likely trick him into jumping toward you. If he/she does, counter with a standing High Kick or Roundhouse.

If you morph into one of your opponents most dangerous foes, then you can really give them hell. If you do morph, remember that you must know their moves and strategies or the plan will indefinetly backfire on you.

Last but not least, if you morph into another character you automatically recieve their weakness. Keep this in mind when you plan to morph.

Fighting Against Shang Tsung

When fighting Tsung, it is sometimes a good idea to trade projectiles with him. If you anticipate a fireball jump and give Tsung and nice kick to the face.

When Tsung morphs, use the character's weaknesses against him. (the one he morphs into.)

Finally, Tsung's jump kick is one of the fastest in the game and is very hard to block or counter. Be on the lookout and try to anticipate it.

Shang Tsung's Weaknesses

Shang Tsung's greatest flaw is when he begins to morph back into himself. This is a great time to to unleash a hard hitting combo or a barrage of sweeps. Remember, when you morph into another character, you automatically recieve that character's weaknesses.

Ending

When Shao Kahn overtakes the Earth, he needs Shang Tsung to help locate the surviving humans. Granted new powers, Tsung soon discovers his dark emperor's true plan: as soon as the remaining warriors are disposed of, Kahn will take Tsung's own soul. After learning this, Tsung turns on his master. He catches Motaro off guard and then defeats Shao Kahn. But before the Earth can return to normal, Tsung takes all the souls as his own. He will forever rule the Earth with his own brand of evil.
